EDEN Recovery™
One of the most important things you can do to achieve optimal performance is to give your body a well developed post workout formula. In high intensity workouts, your body predominantly uses glycogen (energy source stored in muscle fibers) as your primary fuel rather than fat. EDEN Recovery™ is a refreshing orange flavored drink, not a shake.
Your body needs several things immediately following a workout in order to maximize results and gain lean body mass (muscle), and build from one workout to the next.
- EDEN Recovery™ contains fast absorbing carbohydrates to replenish depleted glycogen stores and transition your body from a catabolic (protein degradation or muscle breakdown) state to an anabolic (protein synthesis or muscle building) state.
- EDEN Recovery™ provides an ideal blend of easily digestible whey protein isolate (WPI) and whey protein concentrate (WPC). Once in an anabolic state, your body uses the amino acids (building blocks of protein) from this quality protein source in order to build muscle.
- EDEN Recovery™ supplies electrolytes for re-hydration, a slice of the Recommended Daily Allowances (RDAs) for overall health, and antioxidants to bind to free radicals released during your workout.
Note: EDEN Recovery™ is 99.3% lactose free making it an ideal recovery drink for lactose intolerant athletes. The typical lactose intolerant person can tolerate up to around 2% of lactose.
Who should take EDEN Recovery™?
EDEN Recovery™ is for hard-training athletes who have very high caloric needs and participate in high intensity activity.
Personalized Serving Size for EDEN Recovery™
Everyone needs a different volume of protein and carbohydrates. There is no "one size fits all" serving. If you take too little, you risk not providing enough carbohydrates to effectively replenish depleted glycogen stores. If you take too much, you will store the extra calories as fat.
Our suggested serving size is based on lean body mass. This is your body mass that is not fat. Most of you (or your trainers) know your body fat percentage already. If you do not, you can have your body fat tested by your local gym or physician.
How to take EDEN Recovery™
EDEN Recovery™ will be taken in two phases (phase 1 & phase 2).
Phase 1: Mix half your recommended serving size with 1-1.5 L of water depending on your taste. Drink this immediately following your workout (within 20 minutes maximum). Drink this over 10-20 minutes. This is the prime window for replenishing your glycogen stores.
Phase 2: Mix the second half of your recommended serving size with 1-1.5 L of water and begin drinking this within 10 minutes after finishing the first part. Drink this over 45-60 minutes.
Example:
- Your recommended serving size is 4 scoops.
- You complete your workout at 1:00 PM.
- Immediately, you mix 2 scoops with 1-1.5 L of water, and drink it over 10-20 minutes.
- At 1:10, you mix the remaining 2 scoops with 1-1.5L of water and drink it over 45-60 minutes, so you should be done with it between 1:55 and 2:10 PM.
